For $750 with children and $500 without children, our licensed attorneys at the Kelly Law Firm will spend one hour helping you fill out the forms you need to file your own divorce when you and your spouse agree on all the things that are part of splitting up and going your separate ways.  We are not a document preparation service where you get your paperwork prepared but you’re on your own to go through the right channels to actually get divorced.

In the Florida courts, a divorce is officially called,”Dissolution of Marriage.” You can file and complete your own divorce/dissolution without an attorney if you and your spouse can come to an agreement about how any children will be cared for and how your property will be divided.

Florida Residency Requirements

At least one spouse from the marriage must have lived in Florida for at least six months prior to filing for divorce.

Grounds For Divorce

Florida is a “No-Fault” divorce state, which means that the only legal requirement is that the marriage must be “irretrievably broken.”

• A judge completes your divorce by reviewing your documents and signing the Judgment.

All documents needed for your divorce are covered, including division of property, child parenting plan (including child support, visitation and custody), alimony, and any other documents specific to your needs.

In addition, unlike other document preparation services, you will be assisted in filling out your paperwork for one hour by one of the attorneys at The Kelly Law Firm licensed in the State of Florida. This additional service is included in the Non-Contested Dissolution of Marriage Self Help Assisted Divorce package. The Kelly Law Firm uses the forms approved by the Florida Supreme Court and guarantees your documents will be accepted by the court or we will make the necessary changes at no additional charge to you.

You also need to understand that if you use the Assisted Divorce Service offered by the Kelly Law Firm, you will be responsible for separate filing fees to be paid directly to the Clerk of Courts in the county where you file your divorce.

If there are children involved in your divorce, both parents will be required to take a parenting class and there will be additional charges for the class.
